Lens choice was probably the most important decision to make in this shot. While I usually photograph portraits using a 50 mm or an 85 mm lens, this location called for a wide angle lens, so I photographed the bride in this narrow mirrored hallway with a the 16 - 35 mm lens in order to show the graphic elements of the scene and create a point perspective on the bride. The bride wanted to make sure that the venue is shown in the portrait photographs. For this bridal portrait, a hall of mirrors provides an interesting and visually striking setting. I chose a low point of view and wide angle for this shot, in order to have the mirrors lead the eye to the bride in the middle. The natural light from the window provided a great backlight as well, silhouetting the subject. I could've photographed for hours in this hallway, and still not covered all the interesting perspectives and angles one could get from these mirrors. The bride loved this photograph, as it accomplished exactly what she was looking for!
